This year’s Grammy Awards may go down as one of the best award shows of all time. From the performances to the speculation over the winners to the inspiring acceptance speeches, the 53rd Grammy Awards did not fail to deliver the goods. Of course, we here at Dress Code Formal would like to congratulate all of the artists who performed and won awards. But what really gets us excited about any award show are the fashions. Here are our top 3 favorite styles of the night.

#3 – Jewel
We love Jewel’s down-to-Earth style and soulful singing. In this stunning one-shoulder evening gown by Pamella Roland, she manages to look glamorous and quite fashionably hides a baby bump. The floor-length lemon chiffon dress sports long lines and a sexy, demure neckline. This is the kind of dress that looks good at just about any classy event and Jewel really knows how to wear it.

#2 – Miranda Lambert
Another one-shoulder dazzler, this rising country star not only nabs our number 2 position, she also walks out of the show with the Grammy for Best Female Country Vocal Performance. This young starlet positively shimmers in a gunmetal Georges Chakra special occasion gown. We love the way this dress flows, capturing every glimmer of the paparazzi’s flashbulbs. This is one artist to pay attention to in the years ahead!

#1 – Selena Gomez
Selena Gomez looks absolutely ravishing in this sheer number from J. Mendel. From the almost iridescent fabric to the sultry curves and the symmetric criss-cross design on the bodice, Selena really comes into her own. This is the kind of formal gown that not only lands you at our number one position but is sure to be imitated at many more award shows to come. So fabulous!

If you haven’t seen Mad Men on AMC, do yourself a favor and rent it right away! Not only are the stories and characters infinitely compelling, but the fashions are lush with the sentimentality of an ultra-chic, jet-setting 1960s. Poodle skirts and bob haircuts abound, as do the posh excesses that permeated Post-War America. Of course, no treatment of the show’s fashion sense should forget to mention Christina Hendricks, the femme fatale with the voluptuous figure of a Marilyn Monroe or Bridgitte Bardot. And when not in front of the camera, Christina has become a fashion icon in her own right. We’ve taken two of Christina’s styles and matched them with Dress Code Formal’s bridesmaid dresses so you, too can dress like a star.

Christina’s sweetheart neckline and ruffled tea-length skirt complements her sassy spirit and sexy silhouette. This look is flirty and playful and just screams “look at me!” Our bridesmaid dress style 3914 conveys the same message while still being formal and appropriate for any special occasion. Both of these styles are good for girls with fuller hips as the sash comes just above the waistline and the a-line skirt allows a little extra room.

The classic v-neck never fails to stun and Christina wears it well here. Christina is a full-figured woman and this dress definitely shows off her curves. As you can tell, the v-neck neckline is designed to heighten cleavage. Our evening gown style 3911 achieves the same effect with a halter top. Both are stunning gowns that accentuate the curvaceous form while still being roomy and comfortable.

The temperature is certainly getting colder out there. Time to say goodbye to the flats and flip-flops of the summer and cozy up in something warm and fuzzy. Our friends at www.whooga-eu.co.uk know a thing or two about style and comfort for those cold winter days.
