Bridesmaid, Prom, Evening Fashion Resource and Trends
My favorite part of any red-carpet event, especially the Oscar’s, is seeing what all the women are wearing! The men are always fun to watch, but it’s the women that really take a stand and make a statement about where the trends are going.
One of our favorite celebrity dresses from 2008 is a Keira Knightley gown with gold palettes reflecting the light on her skirt. That dress immediately went into my own personal “style file” which helps give inspiration to designs Dress Code Formal creates. So, if you go to Dress Code Formal, you can see style #4916 for our shorter version of Keira Knightley’s dress.

This year, at the 2009 Oscar’s, celebrities brought more drama and structure to the red carpet. We saw a lot of trumpet skirts (mermaid skirts), sequins, ball gowns and trains. With all the uncertainty in the world, we are craving more structured designs, dramatic embellishments and luxurious fabrics to escape the less-than-luxurious times. Everybody wants to feel like they are getting great value for their dollar. You can definitely get the celebrity style with the celebrity feel, for a fraction of the price at Dress Code Formal.
A few of the celebrity gowns that I enjoyed from the 2009 Oscars are the gowns worn by: Miley Cyrus, Angelina Jolie, Lisa Rinna, Natalie Portman, Kate Winslet and Evan Rachel Wood. Miley Cyrus looked unbelievable. She was my favorite, by far, and I still can’t stop thinking about her dress. This was a perfect, young, and modern look for the young star. Looking elegant and red-carpet worthy all begins with a good taste level. Sexy is only elegant when it is done with class, sophistication, and doesn’t border on vulgar! Anyone can get attention when they’re close to flashing the entire world! It’s about getting attention because of your beauty, elegance, and confidence!
Dress Code Formal’s design team follows all the latest trends and best-selling silhouettes from Europe, Asia, South America, and the United States. We then manufacture these designs and sell them to you directly rather than to a boutique.
