This coming Wednesday, Cipriani 42nd Street is hosting the El Museo’s gala.  Artist, Ruben Toledo, approached the museum’s Classroom Connections program to incorporate their views into his portraits.  Toledo sketched 68 different portraits and then each portrait was passed around from child to child.  Each student artist was to provide a single feature to the painting before moving on to the next one. 

The portraits are being sold Wednesday night at $500 each.  Proceeds will benefit the Classroom Connections program as well as the Amber Charter School in East Harlem.  Amongst the subjects of the portraits are Carolina Herrera, Narciso Rodriguez, Carlos Santana and Penelope Cruz.

I posted a few of the portraits from WWD in this post, and I think they are really fun.  My favorites are Narciso Rodriguez and Carlos Santana!!  If you have seen any additional ones, feel free to post which ones are your favorites!
