Gorgeous gowns were everywhere, whether national or international! Diane von Furstenberg was not afraid to show her “stars”. “I am the Statue of Liberty”, she proudly stated.

It was amazing to see all these proud American women as well as European allies together celebrating this annual event. It is always a fabulous time and the incredible designs never fail to please!

Kathryn Bigelow, director of Hurt Locker made history before our eyes. The film took home 6 awards and was the night’s big winner. Sandra Bullock won Best Actress for the Blind Side and Jeff Bridges for Crazy Heart. The best Supporting actress award went to Mo’nique for Precious, and Supporting Actor Christoph Waltz for Inglourious Basterds.

The night was magical as always and the Red Carpet stunned! There were miles of gorgeous gowns and sparkling jewels that we just couldn’t take our eyes off the screen!

Oscar Winner Sandra Bullock looked gorgeous in an embroidered lace and metallic Marchesa gown.

Jennifer Lopez stunned in an iridescent pink Armani Prive gown that featured cascading ruffles on the side.

Kate Winslet wore a simpler design by Atelier Yves Saint Laurent. As last year’s winner, she was excited to relax and enjoy the show this year.

Anna Kendrick wore a beautiful Elie Saab Couture gown in blush. This off the shoulder gown was very soft and romantic.

Vera Farmiga waltzed the Red Carpet in a cascade of pleats by Marchesa.

Gorgeous gowns and outstanding talent! The Oscars never let us down when looking for our Fashion fix. Congrats to all the winners!

The Fashion on the Red Carpet was gorgeous as always! There was a large presence of mermaid silhouettes, which just looked glamorous and accentuated all the right curves. Lady Gaga brought her cutting edge, over the top style as always and stunned in an out of this world gown. You can’t help but love her!

The big winner of the night was Taylor Swift, who took home the Album of the Year award. Although Beyonce was awarded more trophies than she could handle; taking home 6 Grammy awards. She is the only woman in the history of the grammys to take home so many awards!!

The musical performances were incredible beginning with the show opening act by Lady Gaga featuring Elton John in a mind blowing duet. Taylor Swift performed with Stevie Nicks. Pink performed an unforgettable act taking on new heights!

A special 3d tribute to Michael Jackson featuring Usher, Carrie Underwood, Celine Dion, Jennifer Hudson and Smokey Robinson was heartfelt and touching. His young children accepted a lifetime achievement award on his behalf.

The best in the industry came out to celebrate each other and it was truly a great night and an amazing show (although quite long). Congratulations to all the winners!!!

The red carpet was indeed a soaking walk for our stars, but they shined nonetheless with their much needed accesory; the umbrella! The major trends that we saw were the sexy mermaid cuts and the color Purple!

The science fiction blockbuster “Avatar” won for best drama and directing! Honors for Best Acting in a Drama went to Sandra Bullock for “The Blind Side” and Jeff Bridges for “Crazy Heart”.

Some other winners included Meryl Streep, Mo’Nique, Drew Barrymore and Michael C. Hall with best actor for “Dexter”.

The must have accessory seen on all the celebrities was a ribbon in awareness of the destructive earthquake in Haiti. Amongst the devastation, suffering and worldwide recession; a ray of sunshine was peeking through to honor the best at the Golden Globes. Congrats to all the winners!!

The bigger, stranger and more attention grabbing – the better! That’s what some celebs are living by as they feature these accent pieces on their necklines.

The occasional diamond or pearl strand just doesn’t cut it anymore. These fashionistas are looking for bold items that range from torso length feathery necklaces to barbed-wire inspired pieces.

Ladies such as Daphne Guinness, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Rihanna and Lady Gaga are among the trendsetters wearing necklaces that look like crystal chandeliers and fringed bibs!

Pair it with a gorgeous gown and you’re ready for a night on the town. Although eye catching and quite gorgeous, these necklaces are sure to weigh quite a bit on these women’s necks. A small price to pay to look fabulous!

Michelle Obama wore a gorgeous gown designed by Mumbai born designer, Naeem Khan. It was her first official State Dinner at the White House and she could not have looked more fabulous.

Khan custom designed the nude colored strapless gown with a floral pattern made of silver sequins. Khan was incredibly delighted and speechless that the First Lady chose his design to wear for the event. She looked even more incredible than he had imagined!

Michelle Obama is always testing the limits of fashion as First Lady and she always comes through with shining colors! Khan is going to receive a huge career boost for sure! Keep the gorgeous designs coming!

Rihanna and Cindi Leive

Gorgeous dresses were seen among the sea of inspirational women that were in attendance at this grand event. Some of the women honored for their accomplishments included Rihanna, Serena Williams, Susan Rice, Amy Poehler, Maria Shriver, Stella McCartney, Euna Lee and Laura Ling ; the two journalists who were imprisoned in North Korea for over 3 months.

An honorary award was also given to our First Lady Michelle Obama. She accepted her award in a pre-taped video. Amy Poehler advised the attendees “Girls, if boys say something that isn’t funny, you don’t have to laugh.” We certainly don’t have to argue that advice!

The Lifetime Achievement Award was graciously given to Dr. Maya Angelou. She received a well deserved standing ovation and recognition for her continued work.

A wonderful evening of honoring the most influential women of the year was followed by a dinner for the attendees. These women are impressive and highly respected for their incredible accomplishments. Bottom line ladies; Girls Rule!!

Always testing the limits of Fashion!! That’s we love Lady Gaga! She is a Fashion risk taker to say the least.

She finally revealed the name of the designer behind her fabulous and attention getting frocks – Matthew Williams – who she calls “Dada”.

The biggest shock of the evening occured prior to the Awards as Lady Gaga stepped onto the Red Carpet and celebrity photographer, A.J. Sokalner, collapsed and died. In his late 50′s, the well known and respected photographer suffered a heart attack.

On August 30^th, the best in daytime television were recognized at the 36^th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards! The gala was held at the historic Orpheum Theatre in Hollywood, hosted by Vanessa Williams.

As always, gorgeous gowns, dazzling jewels and bold colors were prominent on the red carpet! Some of the top trends caught on the red carpet included jeweled details, one shoulder dresses and backless designs! Sexy and romantic designs adorned the carpet.

Among the winners this year were “The View”, “Rachel Ray”, and “Good Morning America”, just to name a few.  A special Lifetime Achievement Award was given to “Sesame Street” in honor of the long running success.

Megan Fox looked absolutely stunning at the Armani Prive show. She was wearing an Armani asymmetrical , one-shoulder, knee-length dress.  The designer’s new collection has a bit more beading and glitz, which left all the celebrities attending impressed with the collection of gowns.

Christian Dior brought us back to the 50′s with ultra-feminine statements, silhouettes and bold colors.

The scene behind all the shows was intense as models were prepped for their shows.

Due to the economic state, it is no wonder that the designer’s decided to stay on the safe side.  They sent down beautiful and chic styles, but with familiar silhouettes and fabrics.  We saw less of the bold, iconic statements that usually entertain us during couture week.
